The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States with over 150 years of history.  In February 7th, AIA had announced Kris Yao, the Taiwanese architect is to be bestowed the 2014 Honorary Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects. AIA National Convention and the Design Exposition this year is to be held in Chicago, Illinois in June.  Kris Yao will receive the honor and presenting his architecture philosophy in the Convention seminars.

Honorary Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects, Hon. FAIA, is the highest honor for international architects with over 60 years of history.  This is an annual program to bestow the achievements of the foreign architects not only as an individual, but also elevates before the global public and the profession a model architect who has made a significant contribution to architecture and society on an international level.  AIA Knowledge Communities, the Committee on Design (COD), founded to promote design excellence in broader design community and the public at large both nationally and internationally.  Last year, COD representatives formally invite Kris Yao to anticipate the nomination.   After several month of review by this year’s Jury of Honorary Fellows, Kris Yao has successfully be elected with his esteemed character and distinguished achievements and to be bestowed the Hon. FAIA.
