Palace Museum, Southern Branch has received the Special Award of Taiwan Architecture Awards

2016
The architectural design is inspired by three themes from Chinese calligraphy, thick brush strokes, hollow strokes, and ink washes, creating three interwoven lines that form the building.

With their diverse backgrounds, this year's juries have concluded three criteria for the project selection: originality or social aspects, architectural tectonics, and spatial aesthetics expression.
The juries think the structure and detailing of the National Palace Museum Southern Branch are rigorously precise, showing the architect's discipline in design methodology.
Also, it is very appropriate using the cultural symbol of calligraphy to represent the contemporary image of National Palace Museum.
