He described the “Golden Moment” of the Fubon Financial Center, one of his works. “At the end of a day, when the night starts to fall and the light boxes are lit, people and buildings gradually become the black silhouettes, shivering on the streets as mirages to contrast the reality.” Kris Yao further described that these silhouettes were like “X-ray” photos, leading people to investigate another intrinsic layer. Kris Yao revealed that in this architectural exhibition, he would not provide any models, posters or datum, but to express his idea through movie to reinterpret his architecture theories. Yao had been to New York to study movie. He also acted as the director in making a documentary of his mother-in-law, Gu Zhengqiu, a renown Chinese opera artist.
