A television headquarters can be analogous to a stage set, where filming, production, editing, and broadcasting take place in the offices and filming studios, and the role of the spectator and the spectacle are fluid and interchangeable. Inspired by the idea of “sets on stage”, the design of the building space became a “stage” with a carved form, revealing the presence of actual and artificial walls, layering techniques, and multiple frames created by manipulating the transparent/reflective qualities of glass. The public spaces for social exchange and activities, namely plazas, terraces, outdoor staircases, and protruding balconies were intentionally designed as “sets”.

The floor plan is composed of a long and a short axis. Studios are placed along the long axis and office spaces on the short axis. The exterior façade is a web of zinc panels, glass, and stone. The gradient’s low saturated color tone of gray, black, and silver reflects the precision the building design strives to achieve. The client’s wish to be modest and simple is conveyed through the use of washed surfaces, matte-finish stone materials, and oxidized zinc panels.
