The Exhibition Center acts as the visitor’s first stop for Huangshan City where the famous Huangshan, or the Yellow Mountain, is located. The Center sits on a higher plateau adjacent to a commercial development, looking down at a city plaza that is shared by both. Huge stone landscape steps with waterfalls running in between lead visitors to a climb to the Center. The exterior of the building is composed of a series of sloped, segmented wall-like masses cladded with thick, hand-chiseled yellow granite. In the interiors, the stone-clad walls continue and a sky-lit grand atrium ties all the exhibition halls together at the center.
