The architectural image takes full consideration of traditional culture and regionality. The façade re-interprets traditional Chinese elements with modern materials, creating a unique and familiar architectural image. The rectangular building is formed by two staggering void and solid volumes. The void volume emphasizes the vertical division, and opening of the solid volume corresponds one by one to the frame of void volume. Contrary to the solid southern façade, the void volume is arranged on the north, in respond to the open city plaza. The open façade, double height lobby and grand stairs create conversation between in and out. In addition, the void volume is the guide and extension of the urban axis and the historic Phoenix Platform ruins. The void volume adapts Chinese window frame motifs to create a fusion of traditional data-style with modern functionality.
